Do they really float?
The performance hats do — water-resistant shell, perforated panels, and yes, they float if they go off the dock. The Ozark is the exception on purpose: 100% cotton, no performance coating, for people who'd rather have natural material.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash only. Most of the time a simple rinse brings it back.
Why we started.
We're three guys who got tired of overpaying for apparel, most of it marked up for the logo, not the build underneath. So we made the hat we actually wanted to wear: same quality, fair price, blank on purpose. Last year one of us left a corporate job to chase a few ideas, and this was one of them. We run it out of Phoenix now. These days we ship for offices, golf outings, and family reunions just as often as one guy grabbing a hat for himself. That's the whole story, and we kind of like that it's a short one.
